Add-on API key request email rate limit

Context

I am trying to get a Mozilla Developer Hub API Key to start publishing an add-on.

Issue

I visited https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/developers/addon/api/key/ and requested an email. As the emails didn’t seem to come through, I tried a few times (roughly 5–8 I believe), and eventually got rate-limited with the message You have submitted this form too many times recently. Please try again after some time..

Hours later, I received the emails I had requested; but when clicking the links in these emails and trying to use the Generate new credentials button, I get the same You have submitted this form too many times recently. Please try again after some time. message:

I waited about 12h to try again, but I am still getting this message.

I did not find a dedicated support platform, so I decided to post here in hopes that it is a valid means of communicating this issue.

Hi, and thanks for reaching out, and sorry for the hassle!

You did nothing wrong here. We have seen the API key confirmation email misbehave lately, and the rate limit was triggered by the requests you made while waiting for those emails, so this is very likely on our side, not yours.

To verify the account first, could you send that request through our contact form ( Client Challenge ), using the email address associated with the account? Then I will reset the request from here so you can generate a fresh key.

You are also in the right place, this forum is a fine way to reach us for issues like this.
