Adding common figures of speech? (proverbs, idioms, etc.)

Hello,

I was wondering if we could use common figures of speech to add some sentences to the list of sentences to pronounce.

Wiktionary lists hundreds or thousands of such phrases, see for example https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Category:English_proverbs or https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Category:French_idioms for example)

I guess that they should be in the public domain, when there’s no identifiable original author. But I’m not 100% sure.

Any thoughts?

It’s tricky @J-b. Most of those sentences are probably originally from the public domain, but that collection you linked to is licensed by wiktionary under cc3 (share-alike), which is not compatible with the license we want to use (cc0). So if you could find other sources for those phrases, we could probably use them, but we couldn’t use those collections.
