Appeal status request for ShortNews - no follow-up email after appeal

Hi Mozilla Add-ons team,

I’m asking for clarification on the appeal status for my Firefox add-on ShortNews.

I received the original permanent disablement email on August 17, 2026, for:

Acceptable Use - Blocked: Deceptive or misleading

I submitted an appeal using the link provided in that email, but I have not received any follow-up email with the appeal outcome. When I open the appeal page now, it says:

This decision can't be appealed.

Could someone please confirm whether my appeal has been reviewed and what the outcome was? If possible, I would also appreciate any actionable detail about what was considered deceptive or misleading, so I can understand the issue and avoid repeating it.

I’m not trying to bypass enforcement or resubmit around the decision. I want to understand whether there is any supported path to correct the add-on/listing and submit a compliant version for review.

Hi, and thanks for reaching out, and sorry for the uncertainty here.

Checking on my end, your appeal was received, and it is still pending review. It has not been reviewed yet.

Once it is, you will receive an email with the outcome, so there is nothing further you need to do right now.

The “This decision can’t be appealed” message you are seeing is expected once an appeal has already been filed against a decision, so nothing was lost and there is no need to submit again.
