# Create a thing that displays text on the things page?

I’d like to create a thing that displays a short piece of text. Is this possible? Looking at [the web of things spec](https://iot.mozilla.org/wot/), I haven’t seen a way to to this.

No, there’s not currently anything that would support this.

Thanks @mstegeman. I opened [https://github.com/mozilla-iot/gateway/issues/2551](https://github.com/mozilla-iot/gateway/issues/2551) for this, with further details of why it would be useful
