Is there anyways to find out how many times a certain addon to Firefox have been downloaded? Public information?
Or is this private information?

If extension statistics are public, they are linked from the “More information” box.

The active install count is published on the add-on detail page and also appears on search results. Downloads are only visible if the developer chooses to make them public.
