I was making a theme for Firefox, and rather than use the built in thing as it seems somewhat limited, I took the JSON file from the debug page, and just made a new document with all the same parameter names, with the colors I wanted etc. However, when trying to load it as a temporary add-on, it continues to say that it did not expect any of the parameters given, despite it literally being copy paste. The only alternative I can see is submitting it fully and waiting for it to be approved, then making whatever minute changes I want and doing it again. Anyone know how to solve this?
Try to open browser console (Ctrl + Shift + J), it should tell you which fields specifically are unexpected in the manifest file.
Note that released themes and extensions are re-bundled with extra “content” in a form of various flags and encryption keys.
