# Migrating to firefox AMO from self-hosted issues

Hey, I’ve been looking to migrate my self-hosted addon to the firefox AMO. I removed the `update_url` and attempted to upload to the AMO. However, I get the error `Duplicate add-on ID found`.
If I change the add-on ID and also remove the update\_url, how will users of the addon get updated to the newer AMO-hosted version? Since it would have a different add-on ID.

It sounds like you might be trying to upload your modified version as a new add-on. If so, head to the **Submit a New Version** page on Dev Hub and use the **change** link under **Where to Host Version** to switch from “On your own” to “On this site”. Once you’ve done that, you should be able to upload your ZIP and submit the new version.
