Migration of Mozilla India Blog and Website to Participation Infrastructure

(Akshay) #1

Hello netizens,
After a long long wait, I’m happy to announce this. Thanks to the wonderful help from Participation Infrastructure team (especially @tanner), we’ve been able to migrate Mozilla India website and Mozilla India blog to participation infrastructure thus getting rid of needless security issues on the way.

This update brings much needed security to our infrastructure. The sites are now SSL enabled. Also, updates and maintenance are done in sync with partinfra (long gone wordpress security exploits).

What has changed

How it affects you

  • If you previously had an account on the blog, your password would have been reset (this would have happened a few months ago, so if you logged in after that you won’t notice this).
  • Some people might have lost their roles on the blog (author, editor, etc). If you’ve been affected, please let me know.
  • If you are contributing to the github repositories mentioned above, you might have to change the git URLs.
  • If you have a project in the github mozillaindia organization, your project can now have it’s own website at mozillaindia.org/projectname by enabling github pages in your repository.

Further, if you are interested in contributing to the development of Mozilla India website, you can work on github.com/mozillaindia/mozillaindia.github.io repository with issues/pull-requests.

Thanks for patient reading. Let me know if you have any queries or concerns.
