# Request for a new language

Hey @Into_Besa, welcome…

Currently there are two ways to request a new language:

1. Use the **Request New Language** link on the [languages page](https://commonvoice.mozilla.org/en/languages) (actually it exists in a couple of places)
2. Open a [GitHub issue](https://github.com/common-voice/common-voice/issues) =\> New Issue =\> **New Language Localization Request** and provide the info about your language.

Use the first one, if you don’t have a GitHub account, the second one is more precise…  
Some recent examples to show you what you have to provide:

The Common Voice team will contact your request. Major steps:

- Request
- Pontoon translations (partial) - a native speaking person needs to be translator (maybe you)
- Sentence collection (750/2000/5000 sentences depending on your Band)
- Entering these sentences through the [Write page](https://commonvoice.mozilla.org/en/write)
- Validation of these sentences by two different people in [Review page](https://commonvoice.mozilla.org/en/review)
- Then your community can start recording.
