Request to unpublish or transfer old Watcher24 add-on listing (locked account)

Hello,

I’m the developer of the Watcher24 Firefox extension. My original developer account (extension@watcher24.app) is permanently locked out. I lost access to two-step authentication and had no backup codes saved. Mozilla support already confirmed (Ticket ID 471213) that this account cannot be recovered, so I created a new developer account under admin@watcher24.app and just submitted a new listing there (watcher24-app) with an updated add-on ID.

The problem: the old listing, published under the locked account extension@watcher24.app, is still live on addons.mozilla.org. It was published in August with outdated code that blocks a test domain, and since I can no longer access that account, nobody can update or remove it. This creates confusion for users and support.

Could you please either:

  1. Unpublish or take down the old listing under extension@watcher24.app, or
    1. Transfer it to my new account (admin@watcher24.app) so I can manage it directly.
  2. Whichever is easier on your end. I’m happy to provide any verification needed to prove ownership (domain watcher24.app, source code, previous ticket reference).

Thank you,

Eduardo — Watcher24

Hi, and thanks for reaching out, and apologies for the late reply.

Unfortunately, we aren’t able to unpublish the old listing or transfer it to your new account. Since we can’t verify your identity and ownership of the original account, acting on it would mean taking control of an add-on on behalf of someone we can’t confirm is the owner, and that’s a safeguard we have to keep in place for every developer.

What you can do is report the old listing as broken. On its page on addons.mozilla.org, use “Report this add-on” and explain that it no longer works and is no longer maintained. If users run into the same problem and report it too, those reports help us take action on the listing.

Thank you!
