Spike from "Version History" source in Statistics in "by Source" section

Hello,

I’ve noticed some spike in downloads last few days and I found out they are all coming from “Version History” source. They make like 50% of all downloads now. And I can see the spike in all of my add-ons.

But I don’t understand it - why would so many users stared to use the Version History section?

Maybe it’s related to the upcoming legacy add-ons removal from AMO and people are creating a backup of current AMO page?

I notice a spike on a couple of my add-ons around August 29th, though nothing as dramatic as you describe. It is possible that a few people are downloading old add-on versions as backup.
