# Support for chrome.runtime.getBackgroundPage

I’m trying to port the Google/Yahoo End-to-End encryption extension to Firefox webextensions. The extension relies on chrome.runtime.getBackgroundPage, which is undefined in FF. Are there plans to eventually support this API?

There’s a list of supported APIs on the [wiki page](https://wiki.mozilla.org/WebExtensions). You can also request APIs to be implemented on [uservoice](http://webextensions.uservoice.com/).
