The addon _Video Downloader_ is currently hijacking links. It will convert some links to some [smartdirect.de/xxx](http://smartdirect.de/xxx) links.

Its behavior is just like this [post](https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/nl0iw3/how_to_prevent_links_from_being_redirected_as/) on reddit.

Five reviews of this add-on have also reported this problem. Three users noticed this problem two months ago:[https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/vid-downloader/reviews/?score=1](https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/vid-downloader/reviews/?score=1)

However, this add-on is still available now.

Please make sure to [report the extension using the report feature](https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reporting-extensions-and-themes-abuse). That’s the direct way to report the abuse. Here you have to hope that staff sees it and ends up acting on it.

I have reported it and I believe that those who leave reviews have reported as well. But this add-on is still available now.

I don’t know whether this reporting method is still used, but someone could try it:
