# Webthings.io offline, unable to connect to gateway

Is [www.webthings.io](http://www.webthings.io) offline? I am no longer able to remotely access my gateways, and browsing the website times out too!

Seems to be back to normal again. My gateways are accessible remotely again and the [webthings.io](http://webthings.io) website is up too.

Apologies, this will have been due to ongoing DNS outages [https://github.com/WebThingsIO/registration\_server/issues/99](https://github.com/WebThingsIO/registration_server/issues/99)

I’m working on finding a solution, but if anyone has experience with configuring rate limiting on PowerDNS with something like dnsdist then I’d be grateful for any help.
