What causes an addon update to be reviewed within 5 minutes, or take days in queue?

Sometimes updating an addon only takes 5 minutes to get reviewed, seemingly with no reviewal just auto acceptance.

And some times it takes weeks.

What is the difference, and is there anything in specific that will automatically get your update accepted or is it random?

Does including the UUID in the manifest.json in the update help get it accepted instantly? @dotproto

Hey @RoValk! I definitely understand the diesre to stay on the happy path. We don’t publicly document all of the considerations that cause reviews to take longer for abuse mitigation reasons. If we did, malicious actors use that information to push updates out to unsuspecting users.

That said, I don’t think the browser_specific_settings.gecko.id field in manifest.json should impact things one way or another. AMO does have some manifest version-specific requirements, but I think that’s more about reducing common mistakes. See When do I need an add-on ID for details.
