Can you send more log?

Do you have any other software running which might be using the same serial port?

Can you follow the procedure documented here:

and send the log file (you can send the log file directly to dhylands@mozilla.com)

after the suggested changes i got the following:

That’s a different error. I’ve seen those occasionally, and need to investigate further. Can you try disabling/enabling the Zigbee adapter and seeing if you can get the original error with debugging enabled?

ok - I see the same error now (in the second restart), but I’m not seeing the packets being logged) which should happen if debugFrames and debugDumpFrameDetail were set to true.

Dave,
I just send you the log file after setting both to ture

this.debugFrames = true;
this.debugDumpFrameDetail = true;

I’ve been able to reproduce the problem.

There is a workaround if you’re willing to install the XCTU utility from Digi.

You need to do the following:
1 - Download and install XCTU from here: https://www.digi.com/resources/documentation/digidocs/90001526/tasks/t_download_and_install_xctu.htm
When installing, don’t use the default location of /opt/Digi. Rather use someplace in your home directory (I used /home/dhylands/Digi)
2 - Launch XCTU
3 - Install the Legacy firmware as per this link: https://www.digi.com/resources/documentation/digidocs/90001458-13/default.htm#task/t_install_legacy_radio_firmware.htm
4 - Plug the Digi dongle into the computer you’re running XCTU from.
5 - Click on the + to add a radion module, and select the appropriate /dev/ttyUSB port, and click finish.
6 - Click on the Found dongle (left pane) this will populate the right pane.
7 - Near the bottom of the list, find the AP parameter (you can enter AP in the search box) you’ll probably find that its set to 2. Change it to 1 and then click the little pen icon over on the right hand side.
8 - Quit from XCTU
9 - move the dongle back to the RPi

Now that I know what’s happening, I’ll fix the code to do this automatically.

Dave,

Thanks this worked. I am able to see the zigbee adapter and also I am able to search for Yale Lock 2016

The new issue or question is how do I enable the lock and unlock feature.

We don’t currently have support for door locks (either in zigbee or zwave).

I’d be interested in getting a copy of your /home/pi/.mozilla-iot/config/zb-XXXXX.json file (which will tell me which zigbee clusters the door lock uses)

The XXXX’s in the filename will be the serial number of your dongle.

I don’t see a .json file in this directory. there are only two files db.sqlite3 and local.js

Any idea where should I be looking for this file? Actually I did a search and couldn’t find any zb*.json file.

You’ll need to update to the new zigbee adapter. Normally this would happen automatically, but the presence of the .git directory is preventing that. Probably the simplest way will be to disable the zigbee adapter, then remove the /home/pi/.mozilla-iot/addons/zigbee-adapter directory and then re-add it from within the UI.

I think instead of disabling I removed the zigbee adapter. How will I add it back on. When I restart the device it doesn’t see the adapter and under the add-onns there is no option for zigbee anymore

dave, got it here is the file:

Dave,

Do you have any update ?

Sorry no - I’ve been working on a number of other high priority issues in the Zigbee stack. I ordered a Yale door lock (not the exact same model as yours but that probably won’t matter). Once I get some of these other issues addressed I’ll take a look at the door lock.

Can you give me a relative time line to when should i expect anything?

Dave,

Do you have any timeline for any update?

Regards,
