Add-on Review Questions

Hi team,

First of all, I see many similar topics here, and I appreciate your efforts to handle all submissions. Thus, I’m here for a short feedback or comment from your side.
We’re publishing many extensions, and most of them are getting reviewed for a few days. However, there is one (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/urban-shield/ ), which is in the queue for more than 2 months. The changes we made are aimed to significantly improve UX and save costs on infrastructure.
Could you please take a look on Urban Shield? Thanks!

Hi @caitlin,
I’ve been waiting for the review of a small plugin (1KB, it’s as good as empty, self-distribution) that is supposed to be used in our company. It has been 2.5 weeks and we would appreciate a review anytime soon.
Best

Hello,

The reviewer asked me to provide more information during the review process and I gave it in detail. However, he did not reply for 2 weeks and my add-on got rejected after the grace period. Can anybody help? My add-on review page is https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/developers/addon/id-guard-offline/versions .

Thank you very much!

Hi,

we did an important update to our extension. We have been now waiting 1 month for the review. Without this update, for some users the extension will not work. This is terrible user experience. We are getting a lot of user requests to update our extension and fix the problem as soon as possible. The problem is fixed but our extension is stuck in review process for 1 month now.

Can you please review our last update as soon as possible.

Hi @blackout and @idguard , I’ll pass this on to our reviewer team.

@ms1, can you please send me the UUID of your extension?

My UNLISTED add-on has been waiting for review for a long time. Why would you have to review an unlisted addon. Me and my friends are the only users. That’s just ridiculous. It’s UUID is {425630f9-6426-4558-992e-f9c8e0d6c136}.

Same thing here. Why do they do that!?

Hello

Our team is porting a Chrome extension to Firefox, we’ve uploaded our latest version along with our source code. It was flagged for admin review and has been successfully approved in a very very short time span with the following message:

This version has been screened and approved for the public. Keep in mind that other reviewers may look into this version in the future and determine that it requires changes or should be taken down. Thank you!

Does that actually mean a human has been taking a look at our add-on or is it only an automatic approval? Did the Firefox team inspect our source code already?
Will we get a notification if/when another reviewer validates our add-on?

We want to start promoting the add-on on our website and on other platforms. But we want to make things the right way. We’d like to make sure it was validated correctly, and that it won’t get deleted from the store after we started to promote it.

Thanks!

hi, Caitlin Neiman
our add-on (NonRival Data) was approved by Mozilla developer’s team before 5 month ago, now in this month we have updated new version and reviewer says that you are using minified code that’s why we removed your all old versions including this one. …
we are not using any minified code, nothing is hidden. at least they should clarify what exact problem is, so that we can resolve it

Hi. I have almost the same situation. Reviewer said, that code is obfuscated, which is not of course, and just disabled it. For me, it looks like add-ons checks by AI, not by human.

I clicked on the Grammarly add-on, then a very tiny Grammarly icon appeared in the center of a page. Then this page came uip.

In red letters it states Content Security Policy: This page’s settings blocked the loading of a resource at https://addons.mozilla.org/favicon.ico(“default-src”)
As I’m typing the Grammarly icon is sitting in the corner of my page making corrections.
On the right hand side of the page it says “Error”
I have NO idea what I need to do and I can’t seem to get out of this page. But I will try again.
I just need HELP - WHAT do I do?

My unlisted addon update is awaiting review since mid september. This is almost as bad as the Opera process now :frowning:

Can you take a look where it’s at the queue?

Hi Mozilla community!

Question: Where should I address my request to review/publish my add-on for Firefox Android? The Firefox PC version was published but not the Firefox Android one.

Context:

Some weeks ago we submitted an add-on that was successfully reviewed. The add-on was marked for Firefox PC and Firefox Android (see screenshot).

Today, only the Firefox PC version is public: https://addons.mozilla.org/es/firefox/addon/andaluh-for-firefox/

I answered via email to reviewer about Firefox for Android version, but 5d passed and no answer. What else should I do?

The “Android version” is public too: https://addons.mozilla.org/android/addon/andaluh-for-firefox/

However, Android currently has limitations in regards to how you can install extensions. See https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2021/01/20/extensions-in-firefox-for-android-update/

I’m having issues with my getting my addon approved.

Is there a way to request a different reviewer, please? The reviewer unicorn2020 seems to be well known [1] [2] for being unnecessarily difficult to work with.
My experience with the Chrome web store has been much better.
