So, one user asked me to add add-on ID field in manifest, would there be any problem with auto updates or anything if I do that? I took the ID of my extension from about:debugging page.
There is no issue with adding it, though I do wonder why a user would request that you add it into the manifest.
Either way, AMO will not let you upload it as an update if the ID doesn’t match the existing ID you’re trying to upload an update for.
