you doing great just a little notice when the game start some of the pool pass the edge of the canvas which lead to unwanted behavier so check the the start point of each pool make the whole pool inside the canvas
but beside that you doing great

I fixed that behavior and tried to add the other feature, ball collision, and now I have a bigger problem, I tried my best to solve it, I even compare my code to the live code on mdn but no clue what’s going wrong with mine, there is just one part that is different from mdn’s, the way that I implemented direction and ball moves

i really can not spot the issue but i notice that your code also make the balls disappear after while
