It appears that the Containers addon was just updated (I had first thought it crashed) and in the process closed all tabs that were in containers with no ability to reopen them.
Several container options are also gone from the ‘New Tab’ icon, it now just lists Personal, Work, and Shopping, missing the Banking it had before and the two custom ones I had added.
