Control + ENTER ruined developer tools

Hello all.
Please remove this awful decision that you need CTRL + ENTER to move to next line in dev tools!!!
At least bring a switch to set it off!

Cannot agree more with this. Please give us the option to turn it off.

The change makes no sense, they claim it’s for ‘accessibility’ but its makes the inspector feel awful.

I understand that this can be frustrating, and we’re adding a preference in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1876694 that we’ll try to uplift to beta (and release if possible).
In the meantime, you can try to use Tab which does move to the next input/line.

This IS more than frustrating, it makes me crazy. Why this change? This makes absolutely no sense to me. I’m using Firefox for more than ten years to develop and inspect websites professionally - until today. Now it’s unusable with this change.

Oh, just use another unfamiliar shortcut to work with - what a great suggestion!

Sorry but I can’t wait until someone changes this back to the old shortcuts. I don’t want to use another browser for this, but now I have no choice than to use Chrome. And I don’t think that I will switch back in a few month if this ever will be reverted. What a shame.

We reverted the change. This is already in Firefox beta 123.0b6 and will be in Firefox 122.0.1 which is due next monday. For more information: https://fxdx.dev/rules-view-enter-key/#2024-02-03-update

Thank you Nicolas! Always nice as a user to have your issues answered and is the reason why so many of us will always use firefox
