DuckDuckGo HTTPS / SSL

I am trying to add the DuckDuckGo HTTPS / SSL add-on to Firefox. I get a message that says I can’t add it because it already exists. If that was true then it would show in the dropdown from the Search bar, but it doesn’t. How do I clear out wherever it thinks this is installed so I can install it?

Have you checked … Options -> Search (about:preferences#search)?

Yes. I have Bing, Twitter, Yahoo, Wikipedia (en), and Google (Default). I unchecked and removed the Google and the DuckDuckGo that were originally there so I could add Google (Default) and try to add the DuckDuckGo (HTTPS / SSL). I was able to add Google (Default) but I’m not able to add DuckDuckGo (HTTPS / SSL).

I think the name collision here is the DuckDuckGo that is already there. Not sure that one isn’t over HTTPS already, either.

The default DDG search already seems to be HTTPS: https://searchfox.org/mozilla-central/source/browser/locales/searchplugins/ddg.xml#7
