Looking for a replacement for DownThemAll!, ImTranslator and CacheViewer
Please help
One of the things I liked best about Firefox is the clean interface - and now there’s a tab taking up unnecessary space at the top of each window, and my home page is full of stories about zombie ants and rats in Australia - eek! I expect I can find a way to clear the home page, but I really don’t like tabs, and hope you’ll add a version of Hide Tab Bar With One Tab - or anything else that gives me the option of removing or hiding them. Thank you.
You can hide the tab bar using some custom CSS for now: https://vimeo.com/235127546
And you can clear the new tab with the settings cog in the top right of it, or remove the elements you don’t like.
Thanks - home page looks much better now! I’ll need more time to figure out the CSS - but I’m glad to know there’s something out there.
Try Bulk Media Downloader and S3.Translator for your first two replacements. As for CacheViewer I’m not aware of a good 1:1 replacement.
A few hours after Firefox Quantum was released, I created a transition top ten collection. Three of ten are 57-compatible:
- Conex, mentioned in earlier posts
- Rename Tab Title
- Vertical Tabs Reloaded.
Vertical Tabs Reloaded is outstanding for:
- its (0.8.5.2) compatibility with Tab Groups
- its (WebExtensions APIs) aim for better interaction with tab groups.
The non-webextension add-on Tab Counter which points to this find-replacements url : https://addons.mozilla.org/find-replacement/?guid=tabcounter@morac
Can be replaced by these two webextension add-ons
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tabcounter-1/
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tab-counter-webext/
Will these mappings make it into the find-replacement mapping on AMO?
FoxyTab also has a built-in Tab counter which can be turned off/on
Forget Me Not is a web-extension which make the browser forget website data, except for the data you want to keep. It can serve as a replacement for Selective Cookie Delete and Self Destructing Cookies, but adds some more things you can clean, like local storage and more.
does anybody have an alternative for reminderfox? Especially for a reminder that appears every first friday of the month
Location Switcher was suggested as a recommendation for Server Switcher (legacy) by the Server Switcher dev.
Hi @thaliel! I’m not seeing a direct 1:1 replacement for Reminderfox, but the developers have recommended the following options for users who want to keep their reminders:
-
You can sync your current reminders with a remote calendar service, such as Google Calendar: http://www.reminderfox.org/remote-calendar-n/
-
You can also export your calendar file and import into another calendar (like Outlook or Mozilla Lightning: http://www.reminderfox.org/documentation-user-guide-sharing-reminders/

“Try Bulk Media Downloader”?
Clearly you have not tried it yourself because if you had, you would not tell others to do so. Just read the reviews that people have left so far. Mozilla flat out screwed over so many users by killing Downthemall and giving us no replacement or options. Worst decision ever. Guess I’m switching to Chrome.
Hi, why is impossible? Please describe that and add a detailed feature request to make it possible.
To copy formatted links in HTML, Markdown, BBcode, etc. for the current page, as a replacement for:
we have:
- Link Text and Location Copier
- Copy as Markdown - Modules pour Firefox (no customable)
Additionally when searching in the Finder for Make Link, the first proposition “Text Link WE” leads to a 404 https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/text-link-we/
Yes indeed! Went with /tab-counter-webext/ as the replacement (the tool doesn’t offer multiple replacement recommendations, just one).
Thank you!
