Feature Request: Allow Markdown in Description Fields

It would be very handy to be able to use markdown in the descriptions and summary fields, especially since this text is likely to be shared from other markdown-friendly places (e.x. README.md and CHANGELOG.md files from GitHub, etc).

Happy to submit a patch if there is somewhere to do so.

It’s definitely something that’s on our radar, and we may implement something like it early next year. We don’t have issues filed for this yet, because there are other things to consider, like how to migrate all the existing HTML data. For reference, this is our GitHub repo:
