Firefox add search engine: problems with archive.org

Hi.
I want to add www.archive.org Web URL Wayback Machine as search engine with shortcut “arc”.
Archive.org is also a search engine for archived pages.

With Opera Browser this works easily in settings with adding:
https://web.archive.org/web/*/%s

But with Firefox it seems each page must have an allowance from FF with a “+” in the search field or 3 points “…” besides the address bar.
I don not see anything of that on archive.org.

How can i manage this manually it there is no other way?
Please without FF permission or Addon
Thank you.

ok, thanks
This is not quite the same as a real search engine shortcut but a smart bookmark that will do its job well.

A FF option to accept all sites with search function would be nicer

… the Wayback Machine is not exactly a search engine.

I tried the https://web.archive.org/web/*/%s approach in Opera.

For Firefox I should recommend extensions such as these:

thank you

+1 I agree, it should be implemented

Changing the %s to a capital worked for me!

https://web.archive.org/web/*/%S
