In the last few months I have been working hard on making my Linux laptop as stable and secure as possible, and I came to Flatpak. The command line is not that intuitive, but the integration into GNOME Software is really smooth and I just love it. But I miss official Firefox builds there. What is needed to be done to get Firefox to this list? The community builds have some small issues, but what about starting with pre-release versions there, until all limitations are fixed?
I have found one year old bug 1278719. @mkaply@wsmwk I see you doing some triage in the history. What is the bug currently waiting for? I see Flatpak as a potential how can Mozilla package and distribute Firefox easily for distros.
iirc the only thing that the linux builds from ftp.mozilla.org miss to ‘integrate’ is coping the icons to your .icons/hicolor/ directory for the shortcut and the nodisplay in the .desktop
