Firefox Quantum Sprint Campaign is coming!

We can even do a global virtual campaign sharing the info Firefox57, so that not just the tech communities but the general public as well.

Please suggest the info that can be shared.

Hi
It seems really cool. I’ve just sent a petition for being host and I’ve already have some meetup registers https://www.meetup.com/es/Mozilla-Club-Mexico/events/243013790/ . Just yet I believe that the swag link is broken & the funding link is missing.

Best,
Alex

I have a few questions about Funding and Swag:

  • Can non-Reps apply through the website? Currently there are no links for doing so on the website, so please share the procedure.
  • Or do a Rep has to file Budget and Swag requests on behalf of all the hosts in his country/region?
  • Is the $30 amount finalized? Or can it go upto $50 or $100 for each event?
  • Will the registered events be added/shown on the website automatically (after form submission) going forward?
  • By when can we expect all the above features to run smoothly on the Firefox 57 Campaign website?

Regards,
Hasan

A good first issue would be https://github.com/mozilla/firefox57-sprint/issues/49 to get started contributing on this

I’m planning to do the automatic event list according to signups the coming week.

Hi Konstantina,

If I don’t have a meet-up account (it’s paid) and if the attendees are not mozillians. I suppose that I can use a Facebook Page Event for this, right?

will we have time to get the swag?

Meetup is free under a number of people but evaluate what is the best for you

That is true, we are working on it, it will be ready into the week

for now we are thinking on 30 so we can cover all the events around the world, so that is a hard amount. If you need more though you need to justify why and we will evaluate per case

yes you can use facebook as well, whatever works in your region

Hey all, a quick note we renamed this to Firefox Quantum to match the new wording

This is Great, first thing first, hello everyone my name is Charles, Mozilla Campus Club Captain at University of Kisubi in Uganda East Africa. Could someone guide me on how to have a successful sprint, I had a discussion with the Clubbers and we agreed to help Mozilla all the way. we registered an event, here is the link to free tickets https://www.eventbrite.com/e/firefox-57-sprint-tickets-37784662944 . Colleges feel free to guide so we can have a quality event. I downloaded Firefox Nightly for Starters. I have practiced filling bugs with different sites. Here is my Email csenteza@unik.ac.ug in case of any other resources we can use. I thank you.

Hello Charles,
these are great news! You can find all the details on how to host your own event here: https://firefoxsprint.mozilla.community/host/

Let us know if there are any questions regarding on the info there and I would happily reply to them.

Hey folks be careful of locking down your events to walled gardens like Facebook. Some potential guests might be blocked from being able to come! Another option we’ve used via Mozfest and Privacy Lab London is Tito, based in Dublin. Unlimited free use for all free events!

Hashtag to be edited inline with this?

that’s a good question, we’ve asked the social media team already and we are waiting to hear from them, hoping into the week.

Awesome! Spotted a branding breadcrumb on the reporting page. Still states Firefox 57 https://firefoxsprint.mozilla.community/reporting/
