Having issues submitting xpi file for review

We want to submit our add-on for review but are having issues with submission.

After we upload the .xpi file I get the message about warnings about a binary submitted and asks for uploading source.

I uploaded a zip file including source code. After this the platform tick mark goes away and I cannot select the platform.

If I click “Continue” it comes back to the same page. I am not able to proceed further.

Any clues?. I tried all the three browsers (Firefox, Chrome and IE).

Add-on submission checklistPlease
verify the following points before finalizing your submission. This
will minimize delays or misunderstanding during the review process:Include detailed version notes (this can be done in the next step). If
your add-on requires an account to a website in order to be fully
tested, include a test username and password in the Notes to Reviewer
(this can be done in the next step). If your add-on is intended for a limited audience you should choose Preliminary Review instead of Full Review. The validation process found these issues that can lead to rejections:Compiled
binaries, as well as minified or obfuscated scripts (excluding known
libraries) need to have their sources submitted separately for review.
Make sure that you use the source code upload field to avoid having your
submission rejected.Access to the eval globalSee full validation reportIf you are unfamiliar with the add-ons review process, you can read about it here.

Try only uploading the XPI. You can upload the sources later on. Uploading both of them together has lead to some server problems in the past.

That is what I tried first it did not work and then I tried loading the zip file also still did not work I wish I could upload the screenshots unfortunately I couldn’t

Please email amo-admins AT mozilla DOT org with the details, including a link to the file you’re trying to upload.

To better clarify - simply remove your pending listing to avoid headaches.

Upload XPI. Ignore the “binary / source” message, get it submitted. Ie, get past the checkilst, then submit

Edit the listing, add the sourcecode zips

I had similar confusions a while back. Hope it helps

this is not an isolated instance, I can not reliably upload even simple single .xpi files to amo. It checks the file, but never adds it to the version entry. I also can’t delete the version entry. If I try to add an additional file ( really the only file I have, it checks it but indicates there is a blank field in the submission form. I think something is broken here…

I do not have any pending listings. Is there a way to check whether I have
any pending listings?

Here is “my add-ons” screen. I do not see anything there.

I was able to get it to work, maybe just because sometimes it randomly works ( like 1 out of 3 times) or maybe because i waited several minutes for the version entry to be made and for the changes to its profile to be saved. Like at least 3 minutes for each of them. So maybe the server is just extremely overloaded? Hope this helps some one else. this never used to be a problem…

Here are some screen shots to explain what is going on. Here is the link
to the Xpi file that I am trying to upload.

  1. Upload add-on screen. See “Windows” is selected.

  1. Uploaded the PrimadeskPlugin.xpi file. Now see the Windows is
unselected. (I did not do this. It did it automatically). Continue
button is available however I am not able to select “Windows” (or anything
else) by clicking. It just does not work.

3) I click on continue but now it complains that at least one platform
should be selected.

How do I get over this issue?

I tried all the three browsers (Firefox, Chrome and IE) but no luck.

Yeah bud - Check the WHICH PLATFORMS, that enables the continue

As I mentioned I am not able to select the platform once I upload the xpi file. One of the developers acknowledged it as a bug when the max version is not specified you hit this bug.

There’s an open bug for this problem. It looks like it’s triggered by a lack of a maxVersion in install.rdf, but there could be other causes. Adding a maxVersion should generally fix this problem.
