How can I create an firefox animated theme? Is it possible to create one? Because I saw some people having them? Help!
Animated themes don’t work well in Firefox. They only work right after you install them, but will stop working on the next restart. This is because Firefox crops the image to reduce loading time, and that breaks the animation. As for how to create one, you basically need to create an animated gif that meets the theme header size requirements.
I created an animated gif that meets the theme header size requirements as you said but it said jpg or png only. And when I create jpg animation it does not allows also? Help please!
Oh, right. I suppose I meant an animated png.
But I tried animated png, it said images can not be animated. Help!!

I created many animated themes and unfortunately I have learned with great sorrow that Mozilla would no longer accept them for technical reasons… indeed can create animated themes was one of the most enjoyable activities in this job

Maybe if you try this your animated themes will work again:
- Open a new tab, and type “about:config” at the URL bar, then search for “lightweightthemes” with the filter.
- Change the values of “lightweightThemes.persisted.footerURL” and “lightweightThemes.persisted.headerURL” from true to false( by double click on them).
- After doing so, restart Firefox and you will see it works! You don’t have to install any add-on.
