I can't get my matrix account to use my email so I can get notifications

Hi all,
Not sure where to ask. I get this error when I add my email address in matrix.

The email verification worked since I got this message when clicking the email link.

As a side not, I cannot log into Riot on destkop

I believe the matrix team is currently working on resolving the issues with changing account data from within riot with SSO accounts.
