Mandrill & badg.us

badg.us is poorly maintained and the the Mandrill account that badg.us uses has been alerting over the last couple days.

Here’s an example:

Your Mandrill reputation has increased to 98, which is above your alerting threshold of 90.

Your current hourly send limit is: 2,416.

A couple questions:

  • Is this a host we have sufficient bandwidth to continue to support and manage this service?
  • What sort of monitoring/alerting can we setup against Mandrill to be more proactive in knowing about issues like these?
  • Is badg.us even monitored?
  • Who is or who are the owners of this host/service?

I’m pretty sure this is @ewong’s project. I filed http://phab.communitysysadmins.org/T69 and he said he was looking into it, but I’ve heard nothing further.

I don’t think the single owner thing works. Need something that mimics module ownership perhaps. An owner and peers.

In this instance we have a potentially service impacting issue and only one person on point to fix?
