Hey, I’ve been looking to migrate my self-hosted addon to the firefox AMO. I removed the update_url and attempted to upload to the AMO. However, I get the error Duplicate add-on ID found.
If I change the add-on ID and also remove the update_url, how will users of the addon get updated to the newer AMO-hosted version? Since it would have a different add-on ID.
It sounds like you might be trying to upload your modified version as a new add-on. If so, head to the Submit a New Version page on Dev Hub and use the change link under Where to Host Version to switch from “On your own” to “On this site”. Once you’ve done that, you should be able to upload your ZIP and submit the new version.
