For the first time in the several decades I’ve been using FF, each time I open a new tab another window opens duplicating the already existing window/s. How do I prevent that happening.
Hi @mcl85,
The WebThings category is about the WebThings IoT platform.
It looks like you’re looking for help with Firefox.
P.S. I am curious what version of Firefox you were using “several decades” ago though
I’ve had a desktop since the mid to late 90s {I’m unable to check exactly when}. I don’t remember when I started using FF but but I’ve usually used the latest current version. At the moment I’m using 131.0.3 (64-bit).
Should I repost my question at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/new/firefox?
P.S.
I’ve just noticed that at some time in the last few hours , since sending the above, the additional windows disappeared and new windows no longer appear when I open a new tab. Perhaps I should post an edited question asking why both happened.
@mcl85 I was just joking, because Firefox 1.0 only came out 20 years ago.
Yes I would suggest re-posting there if you still need help. Hopefully the problem has resolved itself.
The multiples are back! I will repost.
It feels like I’ve been using FF for ever. Maybe I’ve been using it so long I don’t remember using anything else as my primary browser. I suppose I must have used IE and I have a very vague memory of Netscape.
I finally managed to get to the relevant page but getting there isn’t as clear as it should be.
Since I had to get there via a Google account which will result in notification mails going to a gmail address which isn’t even my secondary address I clicked Add a secondary email address to Mozilla accounts which took me to the relevant page but the first line is " Click the menu button …" but I don’t see the 3 horizontal lines there.
Somehow I managed to get to the Add a secondary email address page despite not finding the menu button, added a secondary address but clicking to change it to my primary results in “Sorry, there was a problem changing your primary email”. Why? Aren’t all addresses accepted?
Just to re-iterate, the WebThings category on discourse.mozilla.org is about the WebThings IoT platform.
So if you have questions about building your own private smart home then we can help. Otherwise, I’m afraid you’re asking in the wrong place.
You may want Mozilla Accounts Support (which, yes, requires a Mozilla Account to ask a question!).
