Why are non-essential permissions for add-ons allowed? Some of these new add-ons want complete browser history and lists of this and that. Whatever happened to privacy? You can easily tell if certain info is really needed or not for the add-on to function properly. Thanks!
It would be very helpful if you could give us the names of these extensions.
And tell us which non-essential permissions they request.
Without this information, your post is just a vague rant.
Requesting unnecessary permissions is already against the Add-on Policies:
Add-ons must only request those permissions that are necessary for function.
