Received email directly marked as read

My received emails are directly marked as ‘read’. When I repair the inbox, they appear as ‘unread’. It is a pop-box. I also use an IMAP mailbox for another account.

What can I do to change this behaviour?

The likely solution is to disable Bitdefender add-on in Thunderbird.

I am getting email directly marked as read and I guess “bitdefender” no longer exists.
These emails are ads (FTD for example). It seems “they” can mark their emails as read which stops my Junk filter from “seeing” them.

I am using Thunderbird 115.18.0 (64-bit) on Ubuntu.
How can I get the junk filter to work?

Is there a way to tag all incoming email (read and unread) as unread?
