Redirects of URLs in wiki pages

hello mdn web docs contributors

i have gone through some wiki pages and found that some URLs are redirecting. for example wiki page has been archived. original wiki page archive of original wiki page

changing URLs might seem trivial, however there will be less redirects. reduces load and saves bandwith. why am i asking here ? i might make numerous changes. comments, suggestions, criticisms, etc. are welcome.

I’m not sure I fully understood your question.

It’s possible to redirect a page to a new URL and that’s the preferred way of doing so on MDN so that the old URL is not dead but redirected.
