TL;DR: it was a busy week in the Test Pilot program. Two launches and tons of movement forward on other projects.

Test Pilot

  • Launched both Lockbox and Notes on the Test Pilot platform, 2018-07-10.

  • Made metrics updates and pushed a release to stage 2018-07-12.

  • Planning for the second half of 2018 in progress.

  • Prepping for a Screenshots release on 2018-07-17.

Cloud Storage

  • Shield Study: launched 2018-06-28.

  • Study is expected to run until 2018-07-16. It will be extended if there’s not enough data.

Color

  • Design work proceeding for undo, redo, and randomize theme features.

  • Trying to figure out how to give users the ability to add background images to their themes; there is a concern about file size.

  • Working out through new designs and use cases so this can eventually replace Personas Plus.

Email Tabs

  • New experiment! Email your open tabs!

  • Working on acceptance criteria and experiment definition.

Lockbox

  • Launched in the Apple App Store on 2018-07-10, 6am Pacific.

  • Mozilla blog post was published.

  • Medium blog post was published.

  • Over 800 downloads so far from the app store,

  • 4.9/5.0 star rating in the Apple app store.

  • Good feedback rolling in; lots of requests for an Android app which has been planned.

  • Lockbox snippet is launching next week. We expect installations to jump from this.

  • Work will begin shortly on the Android app.

Notes

  • Launched mobile Android app in the Google Play Store on 2018-07-10, 6am Pacific.

  • Mozilla blog post was published.

  • Medium blog post was published.

  • Metrics are starting to trickle in.

  • A significant source of traffic is a snippet pointing to Side View (i.e., not Notes).

  • 800 people have sent themselves an SMS about either Lockbox or Notes (segmentation still needed).

  • Almost 600 people clicked on the “Download Notes for Android” button on the Test Pilot site.

  • Android survey feedback: >170 surveys completed so far. Most are requesting features, some bugs.

  • Notes snippet is launching next week. We expect installations to jump from this.

Send

  • Backgrounds and file toasts are in place.

  • Test server is now using streams.

  • File size limit upped to 4K, watching performance.

  • Android development is continuing.

Side View

  • Launched Side View as planned, on 2018-06-05, 7am PDT.

  • Medium blog post was published.

  • Over 12k installs over the previous few days from a snippet that was launched 2018-07-10.
