browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.improvesearch.handoffToAwesomebar is already set to False. Changing it to True then back to False and restarting Firefox doesn’t fix it. Also, clicking out of the address bar once disables the search bar. Re-clicking in the url bar re-enables the search bar.Clicking outside the search bar after it’s re-enabled causes the search bar to lose focus but it still appears active. Have to click in the search bar to be able to type again which still jumps to the address bar.and disables search bar again.

I believe we stopped supporting this legacy pref, and Firefox engineers are working on implementing modern embedded search for the New Tab.
