I am trying out the new T-Mobile Home Internet service and unfortunately their router does not currently support port forwarding. Would it be possible to use the Webthings Gateway running on my PI for this purpose? That is, route external traffic to a certain port on a networked computer? Thanks.
IMO, port forwarding has nothing to do with WebThings which is just an application that runs on the RPI. Also, I would hesitate to install a RPI home controller directly on the internet unless it’s locked down with a firewall.
Also, you would need to worry about obtaining a second network interface, preferrably another Ethernet port.
