How come the -moz- prefix is needed for the “user-select” property to be applied in Firefox?
Maybe you can find discussion of that in old bugs. There have been a lot of changes related to that property.

I’m not sure where the old bug discussion is but from that link it says the specification status is “WD: Working Draft”.
So I am going to assume that is the reason. Anyway thanks a lot!
