UserAgent String

Image
I am using Firefox 97.0 currently, but still as user agent it is showing Firefox 91.0.
Can someone explain the reason?

my agent string is using an up to date FF is correct and displays 97.0.

BTW, you posted to the legacy WebThings group, not theFirefox group.

I moved the topic to the “Firefox Development” topic.

By the way: Your email address is visible in your post. I think it somehow ended up in the optional “name” field of your profile. I recommend removing it.

I don’t know why, but still showing firefox/91.0 on typing navigation.userAgent :frowning:

If you type about:support in the address bar, what version is shown?

Is it possible that you are using the ESR version of Firefox or have overridden the UA for some reason?

Did you enable privacy.resistFingerprinting? That shows websites the user agent of the last Extended Support Release.

Yes
So you think this is the reason it shows me last ESR as firefox version

firefox 97.0.1
but I think privacy.resistFingerprinting may be the reason as I enabled it

You can test by setting that preference back to false and seeing what happens with your user agent string. If that was the only reason to show the last ESR string, it should go back to normal.
