There are a few add-ons I’m interested in or have used before, such as WOT (Web of Trust). But upon viewing the add-on’s page in Firefox, I have discovered that it does not have the “Recommended” seal. One quick search on alternativeto.net later, I can see why: They have recently been accused of selling users’ browsing history, which, I can imagine, doesn’t sit well with Firefox’s developers or its users.
So, MY suggestion is this: If a user finds an add-on that (s)he has used in the past, and later finds out it is not recommended by Firefox, let’s add a provision to the add-on’s page suggesting some recommended alternatives.
