What implications are there for the use of Discourse here in light of the Matrix announcement?

I read the Matrix announcement, but I couldn’t tell if it meant there were implications for Discourse or not.

I’m sure either way would be okay (assuming they’ve got a good replacement) but I rather like Discourse for these kinds of community discussions so was simply curious.

I don’t think there are any implications. Matrix is gonna be a synchronous chat, where as Discourse here is asynchronous.
