Why do many companies want us to learn several languages likes PHP, JS if the JS makes the same thing likes PHP all depends Sintaxe ?

each language has it pro and con so for example many use python or Matlab when working on AI application even you can work in ai with other language but those offer more library
and it always depend on what you want to develop do you want develop game or web app or desktop
do you want to develop to certain devices like mobile or desktop
and which platform you develop for windows/linux/mac/ios/android

Any product-based companies generally do not stress the number of languages you know. All they want to see is that whether you have the problem-solving ability or not. If you can work on a problem and find a solution then learning a new language is fairly simple. Though, learning and practicing JS is recommended.
