Any Chance Tab Groups Will Ever Come?

Now that this feature is finally here, it’s really not at all what I asked, sadly. It’s nice to have tab groups, but I was looking for something much simpler and non-permanent: tab stacks. We used to have tab stacks in the past and it should be relatively trivial to emulate tab stacks with an addon if tab groups can be manipulated through addons.

I mean something as simple as automatically grouping all websites that share the same domain! It sounds like the groups could be scripted to do just that. Yes? No?

Anyone? Anybody?

What I never asked for was the ability to group tasks by hand and restore and save those. That’s what I used sessions for already. Granted I don’t find sessions in Firefox so here we are, could have had this much simpler.

@jammet given that what you asking for is not the subject of this discourse posting, you’d probably be better off creating your own posting with the exact criteria at Connect. But perhaps there is already a match at Automatic grouping for same-site tabs - Mozilla Connect

There are also add-ons which can color your tabs (but not group) according to website/domain such as ColorfulTabs – Get this Extension for 🦊 Firefox (en-US)
