Looks like chat.mozilla.org has been disconnected from other Matrix networks, on all channels not hosted by mozilla I’m getting “Connectivity to the server has been lost”.
Is that a bug, or did Mozilla closed the federation on purpose?

No, char.mozilla.org should work (and it works for me). Try clearing cookies/cache and running Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode.
