just discovered add on from Evernote on my Android. It offered it for Chrome only. I now wanted to add it to my Windows 7 desktop but for Firefox only? No other option?

It’s up to Evernote to device what they support on desktop or mobile. Since they are a web service, it should be okay to use different browsers in different devices.
