With the message pane shown, if I am reading an email and delete it Thunderbird then automatically opens the next email; this behaviour is unwanted. I would prefer that it delete the email and leave the message pane unpopulated until I select another email.
The only settings I have been able to find and my searches online have only been in reference to checking the “Close message window/tab on move or delete”, which only seems to apply when you have your messages opening in a new window - whereas I am using the message pane not a new window.
