MIssing host permission for the tab when running web-ext run

Hi, I started playing with web-ext and an addon I wish to modify from this repo:

I cloned it, I installed the npm packages and when I run web-ext run from the base directory the extension loads and it works.

EXCEPT when I click on the extension toolbar icon I get this message

This is the manifest.json

I’m running FF 59.03 64bits on W10

What page do you have loaded there? It can’t work on about:newtab for example.

Ahaa!! that was it, I was click the button from the starting page (empty address) of web-ext run.

If I go to a random website the button works.
