Almost all of the add-ons that I would like to add to my browser come up as not compatible with my version of firefox. pretty sure im running the latest version.

along with a few others. Any suggestions?
If you’re running Firefox Nightly, then all of those add-ons are now incompatible because they use legacy APIs that have been discontinued starting with Firefox 57 (currently on Nightly). Some of those add-ons might be in the middle of migrating to the new API, but you can also try going to the add-ons site and looking for compatible alternatives.

Installed 55.0.2 official release via automatic update. NONE of the plug ins I am using are compatible.
Thank for that (Sarcasm) to Mozilla. I am not sure if one has to annoy people/users like this when you want to improve Firefox.
At the moment I am also considering to trying some other browser as I have to find new functionality with Firefox as well anyways
